Reading for today

Philippians 1:19-26 English Standard Version Anglicised (ESVUK)
19 for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, 20 as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honoured in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labour for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. 24 But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that in me you may have ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus, because of my coming to you again.

Please do not attend the service in person unless you have been specifically asked by Rachel or James, the number of people in the building needs to be kept to a minimum in line with government guidance.

National Day of Prayer, Sunday 22nd March 2020

Many of you are already praying for one another, our country and our world during this outbreak, Church times has suggested that on Sunday 22nd March at 7pm we join together in prayer. People are asked to light a candle in their window at 7 p.m. on Sunday “as a visible symbol of the light of life, Jesus Christ”. You can find more information about this here:

There is a great need for help at the moment and I know many of you will want to support others around the city. In order to ensure that everyone gets the help they need Herefordshire Council have set up a team to coordinate volunteers. If you are able, please do sign up here:

Wednesday Club March Programme

The Wednesday Club wasn’t fully protected against the floods of mid-February. None of our members was thankfully directly affected by the water, but in view of the uncertain weather and travel conditions on 19th February it was decided to cancel that morning’s meeting. The advertised “Baltic Cruise” was easily rescheduled. Penny Platts once again held our full attention with her talk on the Herefordshire market towns. The historical details are most fascinating. Karilyn and Richard Collins were again very welcome guests when they told us about their missionary work in Tanzania.
