Missionaries - Global Mission Network
The Global Mission Network aims to help the members of Hereford Baptist Church pursue the church’s mission to the world by supporting mission partners beyond the local church in the UK and overseas. The role of the Global Mission Network is to bring about a co-coordinated, balanced, corporate and informed approach to our support for our mission partners. The aim is to bring the theme of world mission from the enthusiast into the corporate body of the life of the church.
Key Mission Partners
Baptist Missionary Society - BMS World Mission
We have a new World Mission partner this year, Mozambique. The team are linked with the pastors and churches of the Baptist Convention of Mozambique also the Association of Mozambican Christian Advocates. These use Baptist Churches for legal teaching sessions, impacting particularly on the rights of women and children, The team are also involved with a preschool programme for many children and with youth activities.
BMS Birthday Scheme
HBC participates in the Baptist Missionary Society Birthday Scheme as a way of raising money to support the health work of BMS and partner organisations across the world. In addition, stamps, coins and postcards are collected as useful sources of funds.
Baptist Home Mission
Home Mission is all about helping Baptist churches and individuals to reach their mission potential and bring the love of God to their communities. It is the Baptist family purse, and each year our Union has an appeal to raise money for Home Mission.
Wycliffe Bible Translators
Wycliffe Bible Translators serve minority communities worldwide so that the Bible becomes available in their own language and communities can access appropriate education and development services. Catherine Young is based in Gloucester working as the MA programme co-ordinator for Wycliffe UK at Redcliffe College.
Catherine is also international director for language and development services, working with local communities, governments and other agencies to enable communities to develop education and development programmes and establish the foundations for effective bible translation and scripture use.
Mission Work Supported by Church Members
Operation Christmas Child
HBC has supported Operation Christmas child for several years now, filling shoe boxes with a wide range of toys, games, personal items to send and also helping to organise and man the distribution warehouse where all the boxes are sorted and checked before being sent to children in need around the world, recently in Eastern Europe and Asia. The aim is to show God's love in a tangible way and share the good news of Jesus through these gifts.

Youth for Christ
Youth for Christ is all about sharing the Good News relevantly with every young person in Britain. It operates in many different countries all over the world and seeks to share Jesus with everyone they can.
HBC member Beth Welford is running one of Youth for Christ's touring teams - The Cube. The Cube is all about using multimedia to help share the Bible in new and creative ways. Young people step into The Cube and are immediately encapsulated in an immersive environment that is all about bringing the message of Jesus to life in new and exciting ways.
United Beach Mission
Each year thousands of families travel to the coast to relax, unwind and have a great time, United Beach Mission goes to where people are to engage with them and share the good news. Through family events, games, quizzes and stories they aim to engage with people and talk about the important issues of life, God and Jesus Christ.
HBC continues to support evangelism combined with practical support in the Cherkassy region of Ukraine. We are a strong representative for all aspects of Christianity in action, both spiritually and practically.
Our children's weekly offering raises funds to feed children in a number of churches in Cherkassy. We also provide care for orphans and widows. We recently began collecting good quality clothes to provide those refugees coming from the battles in the East, as they only have the clothes they stand up in, also helping to provide christian families with shelter, and to find work.
Little Daniel School
Little Daniel Community School, Luanshya is found in the Copperbelt region of Northern Zambia.
The Little Daniel charity was set up by HBC member Diane Bridges in 2009 to enable orphaned and vulnerable children to have access to education, to promote Christian values and good health, and attempt to relieve the cycle of poverty.
