HBC hikers met on Saturday 21st April and walked and chatted in lovely sunshine around the south-eastern edge of the Malvern hills from Hollybush to the A449 just below British Camp. There, we lingered at the cafe for ice cream before a short steep climb up to the Herefordshire Beacon (for our group photo) and thence to lunch and back to Hollybush.
Please note that the next walk will start from Kilpeck on Saturday 19th May, coinciding with a certain wedding. But you can record the wedding …

Brisk Breinton
Brisk in the windchill sense that is, for a well-insulated HBC Hiking group maintained a fairly relaxed pace on a chilly but dry Saturday, 17th March.
We followed a figure of eight course of about 5.5 miles, starting and finishing at Breinton Church. The undulating farmland was varied and interesting and did not test us with any steep climbs.
We finished down by the Wye with a fine view of Belmont Abbey and then an inspection of Breinton Springs. Beano the dog wouldn’t stop for the photo because he was busy running about 5 miles for each one of ours.
A most enjoyable walk and we look forward to our next outing scheduled for Saturday, 21st April.

HBC Hike Saturday, 17th February 2018
A lovely clear February morning saw 11 of us set off from Priors Frome, between Dormington and Mordiford, for a walk of about 6 miles on good tracks around Haugh Wood, set in rolling farmland. The weather was good and the chatter was constant so we barely noticed the miles passing and we arrived back at lunch time. Many thanks to Mike C for leading us. Watch out for details of the next HBC hike due on Saturday, 17th March 2018.
