HBC Hiking group undertook a slightly steeper test on Saturday, 21st July. We set off from the foot of the Fan ridge, below Pen-y-Fan in the Brecon Beacons but on the west side of the A470 from Brecon to Merthyr Tydfil.

Kilpeck and Cole’s Tump
The HBC Hiking Group, having given prior permission for the Royal Wedding and the Cup Final to take place on the same day, set off from Kilpeck in warm sunshine on the morning of 19th May, 2018. We started from the lovely little Norman church in Kilpeck and inspected a fine oak tree on the village green, planted shortly after the Battle of Trafalgar to celebrate Nelson’s victory.
