Thanks to Ian Haines’ efforts during July we can now say that “the (old) penny has duly dropped”. Little did we realise how the study and collection of coins does reveal such an intricate picture of our country’s history.

After the break during August we are now looking forward to an autumn season that will have a varied and interesting programme on offer.

This Month’s Programme

4th September
John Faulkner – “Listening to Music”

John has entertained us before with his wide selection of music.

11th September
Open Morning

We can always be assured of contributions from our members: a game, a quiz or a funny anecdote.

18th September
Mark Bricknell – “John Venn Society”

John Venn and his sister Emilia formed a society in the middle of the 19th century to care for the homeless and destitutes. Their values were as important then as they are today.

25th September
Clyde of Wild – “Wicker-Basket Making”

An introduction to basket making that is not only practical, but can also be therapeutic.

Wednesday Club is HBC’s social group for young people over the age of 50. For more information visit or contact the church office.

Better still,
50+ 60 70 80 90 100+? Just come and join us on a Wednesday morning and find out what you have missed in the past!
