HBC - 180 years old

During the last weekend in November 2008, Hereford Baptist Church celebrated its 180th Anniversary. Although Baptist history in Hereford goes back over 300 years, the first definite records of a Baptist Church in Hereford begin in 1828 and the present church building was opened on Good Friday, 13th April 1838, at the top of Commercial Road.

Since then the church has seen many changes, both in its structure and programme. A succession of ministers and members have constantly adapted to the demands and needs of their times and built a church that has steadily grown in number during the years.

Senior Minister, Rev. Antony Wareham, joined Hereford Baptist Church in October 2004. He was joined by Rev. Niels Waugh as Associate Pastor in 2008. The church also in 2008 appointed the Rev. Jason Borlase as Youth Minister.
